For the closing party of the festival, The Drop is teaming up with Pecha Kucha NY to host a night of 5 mini lectures:

The word “environment” has rapidly become an all encompassing term to reflect the world we live in and the world we create. Our speakers will give us their view and reflection of that environment from the perspectives of Art, Music, Architecture, and Fashion.

The idea of Pecha Kucha is simple: Invite creative professionals working across a variety of fields to present 20 slides for 20 seconds each on whatever topic the speaker pleases. This format keeps presentations concise, interest levels up, and gives more people the chance to show their work and speak about their interests.

Transition with us into celebrating the take off of The Drop and the end of it’s first manifestation.
DJ Cerock provides the tunes, and our favorite brewers Beerlao got us another load of their finest.

Special Thanks for their support to Solar One and ArtWeLove.com

It was a fantastic Chelsea opening – perhaps one of the best ever. Hundreds of people filled W25th street on Saturday despite early afternoon rain. The sun came out as the Party Under The High Line went underway with Truth and Soul’s Jeff Dynamite and Halcyon taking the stage. From the siting of Chuck Close to an impromptu set by DJ Spooky in the VIP Lounge, the event was a perfect way to celebrate the beginning of fall and the new season for the Chelsea art galleries.

For the next two weeks, Exhibition 2012+ will be open Tuesday through Sunday. The exhibition closes on October 17, and we will be hosting a closing ceremony with Pecha Kucha on October 17. For tickets to the event, please stay tuned for more details.

We are truly grateful for your support and would love your feedback – please contact us at info@thedropnyc.org with any suggestions so that we can make the event even better in the future.
